Hot diggity dog: Oscar Mayer's Wienermobile coming to Northern Utah

Tuesday , July 17, 2018 - 2:26 PM

Editor’s note: An earlier version had the incorrect days listed. We apologize for the error.

Don’t frank out, but the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile is rolling into Northern Utah this weekend.

The iconic, 27-foot-long hot dog on wheels is scheduled to stop at Smith’s locations in West Point and North Ogden on Saturday and Sunday.

Six Wienermobiles travel the country at any given time, driven by college-age “hotdoggers” who usually hand out toy Wienerwhistles at their stops. The first vehicle was created by Carl Mayer in 1936.

Here’s where you can ketchup with the Wienermobile this week:

• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at Smith’s, 217 N. 2000 West in West Point

• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 22, at Smith’s, 2434 N. 400 East in North Ogden

If you would relish the opportunity to see it for yourself, Oscar Mayer has a Wienermobile app available for download that allows users to locate the Wienermobile, play games and take photos.
