Jerry and Carma (Browning) Jacobs celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this week, on June 28, 2018. They were married in Ogden, Utah, in 1953, and at that time could never have imagined 65 years together. Carma was born in Idaho, and later moved to Ogden, where she met Jerry at a dance at Weber State College. Jerry served in the US army intelligence service in Vienna, Austria, at the end of World War II.
They both graduated from Weber State, when it was a two-year institution and finished their studies at Utah State College. Jerry graduated in Business, and Carma majored in Secondary Education, with an emphasis in Physical Education and Dance.
Carma taught PE at Ogden High School before raising her family. She danced, directed and choreographed many local dance performances, including several roadshows for the LDS church, and the production "All Faces West" with Ogden city. She enjoyed all of her experiences with students.
Jerry received his MBA from the University of Utah, and worked at Swift, Marquardt, Hercules and Williams International, where he retired as Manager of Information Systems & Production Control.
After their marriage they lived in Ogden, but later built their dream home in Kaysville. They have two beautiful daughters, Jana (Tom) Dearden and Paris Morgan; and six grandchildren. They are a great example to their family and friends of hard work, love and devotion. Although they have experienced illness, joy and sorrow, their sense of humor is still intact!
They have both enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling together, and Jerry continues to enjoy golfing, while Carma spends time painting and drawing. They continue to bless and inspire their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will be celebrating their anniversary with Chinese takeout! Congratulations!
